The United Conservative Party’s Grande Prairie-Wapiti Constituency Association is among the sponsors of an upcoming town hall regarding Alberta’s sovereignty.

The Courage to Listen meeting will discuss the proposed Alberta Sovereignty Act, or Bill 1, and the possibility of Alberta separating from Canada to form its own country.

Alberta’s New Democrat Party lists UCP leader Brian jean as a speaker at the event, with NDP Shadow Minister of Municipalities Kyle Kaswaski calling the UCP a separatist party, full stop.

Other speakers at the event will include Democratic Reform Advocate Ben Trudeau, President of the Alberta Institute Peter McCaffrey and Alberta Prosperity Project CEO Mitch Sylvester.

The meeting will take place in Calgary, June 25.
