Severe thunderstorm watches in place

Severe thunderstorm watches are in pace for the City and County of Grande Prairie, Birch Hills, Saddle Hills, Big Lakes, and Clear Hills Counties, the MDs of Greenview, Spirit River, Fairview, Smoky River, Peace and Lesser Slave River, the County of Northern Lights and the BC Peace

Environment Canada says conditions may lead to storms that produce heavy rain, hail and strong wind gusts.

The weather office says slow moving thunderstorms will develop Wednesday afternoon.

Funnel clouds are also possible in parts of northwestern Alberta.
