Kiskatinaw Wildfire now being held, evacuation alert rescinded

Jun 19, 2025 | 3:50 PM

The Kiskatinaw River Wildfire is now being held, and the evacuation alert for the County of Grande Prairie has been rescinded.

Fire activity has continued to decrease, and the fire is no longer considered a Wildfire of Note. This allows the alert for residents north of Township Road 710 to 740 and east of the BC/Alberta border to Range Road 132 to be cancelled.

The County of Grande Prairie says that with the fire no longer posing a significant threat to public safety, updates will now be provided every other day, unless the situation changes.

The Kiskatinaw River Wildfire reached a total size of 26,324 hectares.

A fire restriction remains in place for the County of Grande Prairie.
