City of Grande Prairie exploring strategic alliance to strengthen Grande Prairie Airport

The City of Grande Prairie is entering discussions with the Edmonton International Airport to strengthen regional connectivity through the Grande Prairie Airport.

The City and YEG are working alongside the Grande Prairie Airport Commission to develop a strategic alliance that enhances operations and unlocks new economic opportunities.

Mayor Jackie Clayton says the City wants to ensure the GPA can grow in step with the city and build a stronger foundation.

The partnership will focus on shared priorities, such as expanding air service between Grande Prairie and Edmonton, and identifying long-term commercial development opportunities.

The City says by expanding regional air service and logistics capacity, Grande Prairie is positioned to play a greater role in a nationally significant transportation network.
