Grande Prairie Triathlon at Eastlink Centre July 6

Grande Prairie’s annual triathlon event is taking place today, July 6.

The Grande Prairie Triathlon, formerly the Eastlink Centre Triathlon features athletes of various ages swimming, biking and running to the finish line in 8 different categories.

Despite rainy conditions, the event went off without a hitch with the adults racing from 8:00 am. to 10:00 a.m. and the kids going from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The triathlon is the first of two major sporting events taking place in Grande prairie this month, with the Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games to take place in Grande prairie July 11-13.
