AHS confirms measles case in Fairview

Jul 9, 2025 | 4:02 PM

Alberta Health Services has confirmed a person infected with measles was in a public setting in Fairview while infectious.

Individuals who visited the Fairview Freson Bros. July 7, between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. may have been exposed.

Anyone potentially exposed and has fewer then two doses of the measles vaccine may be at risk of infection and should monitor for symptoms like a fever of 38.3 degrees Celsius, a cough, and a rash.

If symptoms do develop, individuals should stay at home and call the measles hotline before visiting any healthcare provider.

Pregnant women, children under five, and those with weakened immune systems are at higher risk.
