Fike leads WPCA aggregate at Teepee Creek, Vigen still leads in Calgary

Jordie Fike is the leader after Night 1 of the World Professional Chuckwagon Association races at the Teepee Creek Stampede.

Fike broke a 26-year-old WPCA track record set by Larry Clegg with a clocking of 56.89 seconds.

Luke Tournier’s wagon, driven by Lane Tournier, was second, followed by Dale Young, Doug Irvine (Wagon #2) and Vern Nolin.

Fike and Irvine are each running two wagons at Teepee Creek.

Kirk Sutherland is in seventh place. Dean Dreger is ninth and Tuff Dreger is tenth

The top driver in the aggregate after Sunday will be the champion.

Wagon racing continues Saturday night. The grand entry starts at 6 p.m.

Rangeland Derby

Chanse Vigen still leads the aggregate at the Calgary Stampede’s Rangeland Derby.

Jamie Laboucane, Jason Glass Obrey Motowylo and Chad Fike round out the top five.

Laboucane had the fastest time on Friday night, followed by Glass, Fike, Chance Bensmiller and Rae Croteau Jr.

The top three after Saturday night’s races will advance to the championship final on Sunday.
