2025 Special Olympics Summer Games in pictures

Grande Prairie hosted the 2025 Special Olympics Alberta Summer Games Friday, July 11 through Sunday, July 13.

There were 1000 athletes from all over Alberta that took part in 10 sports spread across eight venues.

The various teams gathered in the Bowes before the opennig ceremony.

The Grande Prairie team marches in to loud cheers.
Legion Field hosted the long jump along with all the other athletics events.
Bocce also took place at Legion Field.
Swimming took place at the Eastlink Centre.
Basketball also took place at the Eastlink Centre.
The softball games took place at the South Bear Diamonds.
The soccer games were played at Rotary Fields.

Bowling Stones hosted the bowling competition. Golf took place at the Dunes.The Activity & Reception Centre hosted power lifting and the Grande Prairie Gymnastics Centre hosted rythmic gymnastics.
