Jul 14, 2025 | 4:14 PM

Grande Prairie RCMP and Grande Prairie Police Service arrested a man Sunday, July 13, following a pursuit of a stolen truck.

The fuel truck and trailer were reported stolen just before 11:00 p.m. and was located by officers before fleeing.

RCMP and GPPS monitored the progress of the semi, noticing it was starting to drive erratically and becoming a danger to the public, which led them to use a tire deflation device, stopping the vehicle.

The driver then attempted to flee on foot before being stopped by a police dog.

Thirty-one-year-old Rory Jordan Serna of Myrnam has been arrested and faces eight charges:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Failure to stop at the scene of an accident
  • Failure to stop for a police officer
  • Dangerous driving
  • Driving while prohibited
  • Obstructing a police officer
  • Two counts of failing to comply with a release order

Serna was remanded into custody and is to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on July 28.
