Peace Country curlers among those pre-quailfied for the Scotties and Brier

The pre-qualified teams for the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and Brier have been named and some curlers from the Peace are included.

Team Skrlik is one of three teams named to the Scotties based on the results from the 2024-25 Canadian Team Ranking system

The foursome includes Nampa-raised sisters Kayla and Ashton Skrlik.

The other pre-qualified women’s teams are Team Kerri Einarson and Team Christina Black. Team Rachel Homan will also go as the defending champion.

The Scotties will run from January 23-February 1

Brad Gushue’s team has been named to the Brier under the same ranking system criteria.

Beaverlodge’s Geoff Walker is the lead for Team Gushue.

The other men’s team joining Gushue and defending champion Tea, Jacobs at the Brier will be Team Mike McEwen and Team Matt Dunstone.

The Brier will take place from February 27-March 8 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
