Big comeback gives Alberta gold at the U18 Football Canada Cup

Team Alberta beat Team Ontario 37-34 in overtime to win the gold medal game at the U18 Football Canada Cup played in Antigonish, Nova Scotia on Sunday.

Alberta fell behind 21-0 early before mounting a comeback, bringing them to being down 31-21 with two minutes left in the game.

They scored the tying touchdown with four seconds left, then scored the winning touchdown in overtime.

Four players from the Peace were part of Team Alberta: Rigley Saville from the Valleyview Cougars, Hudson Palfy from the Sexsmith Sabres and Cohen Boucher and Maddyn Morin, both of the St. Joe’s Celtics.

This is Alberta’s seventh title overall and first since 2007.
