Earthquake reported 35 km from Grande Prairie July 26

A 4.2 magnitude earthquake occurred near Grande Prairie around 9:00 p.m. July 26.

Earthquakes Canada is reporting the quake happened roughly 35 km south-southeast from the City and had a depth of 3.6 km.

There have been no reports of damage due to the earthquake and none are anticipated.

It is believed to have possible been an industry related event.

It would have only been lightly felt in Grande Prairie and the surrounding area.
