Grande Prairie RCMP execute search warrant in Scenic Ridge July 17

A pair of Grande Prairie residents were arrested earlier this month and roughly a thousand grams of suspected narcotics were seized during the execution of a search warrant.

On July 17, the Grande Prairie RCMP Drug Section executed the warrant at a duplex in Scenic Ridge, with assistance from the Grande Prairie RCMP CRU and the Grande Prairie Rural CRU.

Various items were seized as a result:

  • 900 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 100 grams of suspected mushrooms
  • 11 firearms
  • 3 prohibited firearms; 2 were loaded
  • Materials consistent with drug trafficking
  • Over 15,000 rounds of ammunition
  • 4 prohibited devices
  • 16,000 contraband cigarettes

50-year-old Michael Lutgen and 36-year-old Alexander Lutgen, both of Grande Prairie, have been arrested and are facing several charges:

  • Trafficking in a controlled substance (x2)
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Careless use or storage of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Fraud

Both suspects were released on conditions and are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie Monday, July 28.
