AHS confirms measles case at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital

A person with measles has been confirmed to have visited a public area in Beaverlodge.

Alberta Health Services says the individuals visited the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital Emergency Department Friday, July 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:05 p.m.

Anyone who also attended the department during that time frame and has fewer than two doses of the measles vaccine may be at risk of infection.

Pregnant individuals, children under five, and those with weakened immune systems are at higher risk.

If symptoms do develop, individuals should stay at home and call the measles hotline at 1-844-944-3434 before visiting any healthcare provider.
