Alberta announces $114.6 million to support local infrastructure projects

The Alberta Government has announced new funding for local road, bridge and water infrastructure projects.

Rural Alberta is the backbone of our province, driving economic growth, feeding the world and strengthening our communities. Our government is investing in the infrastructure rural communities need to grow and thrive, whether it’s reliable roads, modern bridges, safe community airports or water facilities. These are the essentials that support families, attract investment and keep our rural economy moving. Through Budget 2025, we’re proud to partner with municipalities to deliver real, on-the-ground results that build stronger communities and a stronger Alberta. $114.6 million will be provided to support 86 projects, including 14 in the Peace Region:

County of Grande Prairie:

  • $397,500 for Culvert Replacement
  • $855,000 for Bride Replacement

Saddle Hills County:

  • $368,250 for Culvert Replacement
  • $378,150 for Culvert Replacement
  • $12,787,395.54 for Phase 3 of the Central Peace Regional Water Project

Municipal District of Smoky River:

  • $312,000 for Culvert Replacement
  • $351,000 for Culvert Replacement

Northern Sunrise County:

  • $375,000 for Culvert Replacement
  • $763,400 for Road Improvement and Slide Remediation

Mackenzie County:

  • $855,000 for Bridge Replacement
  • $190,000 for Raw Water Reservoir Upgrade Project

Village of Girouxville:

  • $203,250 for Wastewater Treatment Facility Upgrades and Improvements

Town of McLennan:

  • $56,250 for Water Treatment Plant Infrastructure Assessment Study

Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement:

  • $1,359,375 for Phase 2 of Water Treatment Plant Upgrades

Rural communities are vital to Alberta’s success. In Budget 2025, we are making targeted investments through the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program and our water grant funding programs to ensure rural communities across the province have effective transportation and water infrastructure to support their continued growth and prosperity.
