Lion’s Park amenities reopening during playground construction

The spray park at Lion’s Park is open for the rest of the summer.

The spray park has reopened today (Wednesday, July 30), ahead of schedule, following the City of Grande Prairie’s previous announcement that it would remain closed until the new Jumpstart inclusive playground was completed.

The City said after construction started, they were able to “re-evaluate safety parameters” and adjusted the fenced-off areas to create a pathway for residents to access the spray park.

Anyone planning on visiting the spray park is reminded that it is still an active construction zone; residents are asked to respect crews at the work site, stay out of fenced-off areas, and take extra caution if bringing children.
