Prairie Polo marking 50 years this weekend

Prairie Polo is marking 50 years of the sport in the Peace Country.

It is hosting a tournament at Sutherland Field on the Heritage Day long weekend.

More than 50 competitors will make up the 13 teams that will compete in three flights.

The first games were played Friday, August 1, and will continue on Saturday, August 2.

The first match will start at 10:00 a.m. with the last one starting at 4:15 p.m.

There are also matches set for 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday., August 3.

It is free for any fans who want to watch.

The field is located southeast of the Keddies Road on Range Road 54.
