"When thunder roars, go indoors!"

More rain forecasted for the Peace Region, severe thunderstorm watch & rainfall warning

Enviroment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for parts of the Peace Region, including Grande Prairie.

The watch is in effect for all communities south of Peace River and north of Fox Creek.

A rainfall warning has also now been issued for Peace communities west of Bezanson.

Enviroment Canada is making residents aware that conditions are favourable for “dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing large hail and torrential rain.”

Environment Canada added that flash flooding and funnel clouds are also possible.

Conditions are forecasted to improve by this evening.
