Peace Region represented on Team Alberta at the Canada Games

The Peace Country is well represented on Team Alberta competing this year at the Canada Games.

The games start with the Opening Ceremony on Saturday, August 9, in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The competition starts August 10 and continues through August 24.

Four Team Alberta athletes are from Grande Prairie

That group includes Easton Gruending in men’s baseball, Henrico Jordaan in swimming, Jaren Alaimoana in wrestling and Owen Cox in men’s softball

Cohen Cunningham of Atikameg will be on the Alberta men’s softball team, while Lauren Morris of La Crete will compete in athletics.

Team Alberta will also include wrestling coach Adam Link from Sexsmith and mission staff Sean McConnell from Slave Lake.

Men’s baseball and swimming will both be held in Week 1 while the wrestling, athletics and men’s softball are all set for Week 2.
