Aug 9, 2025 | 1:51 PM

Grande Prairie product Chanse Vigen broke a ten year old track record in recording the fastest time of the night Friday at the Battle of the North wagon races in Dawson Creek.

Vigen’s time was 1:12.06 seconds. The old record was a 1:12.71 time recorded by Rae Croteau Jr. in 2015.

Chance Bensmiller, Ross Knight and Evan Salmond rounded out the four fastest times on the night.

Vigen leads the aggregate, followed by Bensmiller, Obrey Motowylo and Salmond.

The top four in the aggregate after Saturday night’s races will advance to Sunday’s championship final.
