Fatal crash near Fort St. John

A crash near Fort St. John between a tanker truck and an S-U-V has claimed the life of one motorist.

Police say the crash happened on Highway 97 just north of the city, and the driver of the S-U-V was declared dead at the scene.

They say the investigation shows the S-U-V was travelling south when it ran a red light and crashed into the tanker truck, which was turning left onto the highway.

The highway was closed for a short period of time while the investigation was taking place. (The Canadian Press)
