Bear Creek Folk Festival on this weekend

Music will fill the air in Muskoseepi Park this weekend.

The Bear Creek Folk Festival will start Friday, Aug. 15, and run through Sunday, Aug. 17.

The first act will hit the main stage at 6:45 p.m. Friday.

Music starts on both Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m. and will go all day.

Main stage performances are set to start at 2 p.m. then again at 6:45 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Jewel will be the closing act on Night 1, Walk Off The Earth Saturday night and Serena Ryder Sunday night.

The walking trail that goes from the pavilion, across the bridge and up Borstad Hill will be closed during the festival.

People can still walk around the reservoir by taking the trail that runs by the skateboard park.

City Hall says there will be some extra transit options for festival goers.

There will be free rides to and from the show every evening after 6 p.m.

People can catch the bus at Stop 838 by the east entrance to Muskoseepi Park and take Route 8 to the Towne Centre Mall to connect to any other route.

Stop 838 has had extra stops added at 9:41 p.m. and 11:01 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Sunday 7:01 p.m., 8:21 p.m. and 9:41 p.m. Sunday.

All bus routes will offer extended hours.
