Ongoing murder investigation in Driftpile First Nation

The Alberta Major Crimes Unit has taken over an investigation in Driftpile First Nation.

Yesterday (Friday, Aug. 15), at 5:30 p.m., Lakeshore Regional Police Services responded to a weapons complaint along Eva Road.

Mounties say “Faust RCMP and the Lakeshore Regional Police Service both attended the location after the discovery of a male deceased.”

The Alberta Major Crimes Unit were then made aware of the situation and took charge of the investigation, as “police are treating the death as a homicide.”

An autopsy is to take place at the Chief Medical Officer’s office in Edmonton on Monday, Aug. 18.
