Forever Canadian gathering signatures in Grande Prairie this week

A group dedicated to keeping Alberta in Canada will be in Grande Prairie Friday and Saturday (August 22 and 23) gathering signatures on its petition

Forever Canadian will be set up in Muskoseepi Park near the Ernie Radbourne Pavilion between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. both days.

The organization says on its website that it wants to put “a simple, unifying question before voters.”

The question reads, “Do you agree that Alberta should remain in Canada?”

Forever Canadian has been going to places around Alberta to gather signatures.

It hopes to get 300,000 people to sign its petition by Oct. 28. Forever Canadian started collecting signatures on July 30.

Anyone eligible to vote in Alberta can sign the petition.
