Jail time for one of four accused in High Level shooting incident

Aug 24, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Alberta Justice says one of the four people charged after shots were fired at a High Level convenience store has been given jail time.

Cornell D’or was given a 913 day sentence after pleading guilty to four firearms charges, including pointing a firearm and using a firearm while committing an offence, August 21 in High Level court.

Seven other charges were withdrawn.

D’or will be given 410 days credit for time already spent in custody

D’or was one of four people arrested after an incident just after noon on June 27, 2024, where shots were fired at the store.

High Level RCMP said at the time that two vehicles took off from the scene.

A traffic stop led to four arrests and the seizure of cocaine, a loaded, prohibited weapon, ammunition and brass knuckles.

Mounties believed this was a targeted shooting. No injuries were reported.

Earlier this year, another one of those arrested, Patrick Nanooch, was given a fine after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance.

The cases against the other two are still before the court.

Joey Nanooch is due in court on August 25 while Kassidy Sewepagaham will be in court in September.
