Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for most of Alberta this week.

The statement is to warn people of a “long duration heat event” over the next several days.

The national weather office suggests rescheduling outdoor activities to the morning or evening when temperatures are cooler.

Heat warnings may be issued in the coming days as the heatwave carries out.

Please watch for signs of heat exhaustion in yourself and others.

It can include; headache, nausea, dizziness, thirst, dark urine and intense fatigue.
