County of Grande Prairie preparing for 75th anniversary

The County of Grande Prairie is getting ready for their 75th anniversary next year.

At the meeting Monday, Aug. 25, County Council directed administration to prepare a business case for a celebratory event to be discussed at the 2026 Interim Budget discussion.

Council has also directed administration to establish an advisory committee comprised of one Councillor and one public member to aid in organizing and coordinating the event.

The county says reaching 75 years provides a meaningful opportunity to recognize their heritage, celebrate achievement, and strengthen community identity.
