UPDATE: traffic resuming at Hwy 855, following oil tanker collision

Smoky Lake RCMP are now reporting that all crews have cleared from Hwy 855 following this morning’s oil tanker collision near Township Road 580.

Normal traffic flow has now resumed.

Smoky Lake RCMP are now clear from the accident site near Township Road 580.

Clean up is still in progress and the road has reopened as single-lane alternating traffic.

Smoky Lake RCMP and other emergency services are currently on scene of a single vehicle collision on Highway 855.

The collision involved an oil tanker semi truck near Township Road 580 and did not cause any injuries.

There is a fire that fire crews are currently working to contain and traffic in both directions on Highway 855 is being redirected.

An update is anticipated when crews have cleared.
