Fort St. John RCMP asking witnesses to severe assault to come forward

Sep 4, 2025 | 12:33 PM

Mounties across the B.C. border are asking for the public’s assistance for information on an assault that took place in broad daylight.

On Monday Sept. 1, 2025 at 2:40 p.m., Fort St. John RCMP responded to a report of a man that had been assaulted near the intersection of 99 Ave and 98 Street in that city.

Police attended the scene and found a male victim laying on the sidewalk with facial wounds. He was transported to hospital in Fort St. John with serious injuries.

Constable Chad Neustaeter said in a news release, “because this incident occurred in broad daylight, the Fort St John RCMP is requesting that if there were any passersby in the area at the time, who may be able to provide a statement about what they heard or saw happen, to call the RCMP.”

Cst. Neustaeter also said if there are any drivers that have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident, it would be incredibly valuable for the police investigation.

Mounties will continue to investigate and ask anyone with information related to this matter to contact the Fort St. John RCMP detachment at 250-787-8100.
