Fire north of Sexsmith no threat to public says County of Grande Prairie

UPDATE: The County of Grande Prairie says the fire was contained as of 10:46 p.m. Tuesday, September 9.

The County of Grande Prairie’s Regional Fire Service says there is no threat to the public from a fire burning north of Sexsmith.

There is visible smoke from the blaze.

It is located along Range Road 60 north of Township Road 744.

County and provincial crews are both fighting the fire.

The public is being asked to avoid the area.
