High Prairie RCMP on lookout for knife-wielding suspect

High Prairie RCMP are currently looking for a suspect with a history of violent behaviour, last seen wielding a knife.

At approximately 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, Mounties were called to the Atikameg area after receiving reports of a male muttering to himself while wielding a long knife, described as a machete.

Officers were able to identify the suspect as he was known to police, and are currently searching the area.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black hoodie and white pants with weed stickers on them.

The public is being asked to be on the lookout for suspicious activity. If they come across the suspect, they should not approach and contact police immediately.
