UPDATE: Beaverlodge RCMP would like to advise the public that the incident has been resolved.

Alberta RCMP thanks the public for their cooperation

Beaverlodge RCMP are advising the public of a heavy police presence in the area of 7 Ave. and 5 Street.

Mounties say there is no immediate cause for concern, but they are asking the public to avoid the area while police conduct their investigation.

Residents are asked to listen to the instructions given by officers in the area and refrain from posting anything on social media until the incident is resolved.

Mounties say they will have more information as it becomes available.
