Alberta Next Panel in Lethbridge Thursday

Sep 11, 2025 | 9:37 AM

People in Lethbridge will have an opportunity to learn about major policy proposals in Alberta and ask questions.

The Alberta Next Panel will be in the city on Thursday, Sept. 11, as the event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.. At the time of writing, a location has not been announced.

The Panel, chaired by Premier Danielle Smith, will discuss a range of topics in which the provincial government feels there has been overreach by the federal government.

Those include federal transfers and equalization, an Alberta Pension Plan, Constitutional changes, a provincial police force, immigration and tax collection.

The website for the panel states that Alberta Next will not be exploring the possibility of separating from Canada. Instead, is it about “exploring the ideas and policies to assert our sovereignty and constitutional rights within a united Canada.”

A recent Panel stop in Medicine Hat garnered a large crowd with mixed opinions.

The registration page for the free event in Lethbridge can be found here.

It is expected that the Panel will be livestreamed on Danielle Smith’s YouTube page.
