Very high wildfire hazard in the GPFA

The wildfire hazard is now very high in the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

An evacuation alert remains in place for the Nose Creek Subdivision.

The 45-hectare fire is located 12 kilometres northwest of the subdivision. It is still listed as out of control.

The fire is helping create smoky conditions in this area.

A fire advisory remains in place for the Grande Prairie Forest Area.

New fire permits will be issued on a case-by-case basis. Existing permits are still valid.
