Ongoing construction in Grande Prairie

Sep 13, 2025 | 6:00 AM

Construction has begun along 116 Avenue and 102 Street.

The city called this “warranty work” and is being done to improve roadway safety and equality.

Construction will last until Wednesday, Sept. 17, and during that time, alternating lane closures will be in place in both directions.

Drivers are asked to limit their speeds and follow posted signage while driving in the area.

According to the city, pedestrian and transit access will not be disrupted throughout this project.

Starting today, (Saturday, Sept. 13), the intersections of 116 Street and 104 Ave, and 116 Street and 132 Ave, will be under construction overnight.

Work is expected to start at 8 p.m. and take “one to two nights to complete.” During construction, the intersections will operate as four-way stops.

The city does warn residents that some noise is expected overnight.
