Electric scooter traffic offence leads to drug seizure

Sep 15, 2025 | 1:13 PM

A traffic offence on an electric scooter last week led the Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit to seize multiple illegal items, including drugs.

On Thursday, Sept. 11, CRU officers witnessed a woman commit a traffic offence on an electric scooter before entering a vehicle.

A traffic stop was then initiated on that vehicle, but the suspect fled; after she was caught, Mounties say they found illegal tobacco on her person and made an arrest.

A search of the vehicle was then done by CRU, which led to them seizing what they believe is OxyContin, 27 grams of meth and 22 grams of crack cocaine, among other trafficking paraphernalia.

Jaime Brosseau, a 49-year-old GP resident, had three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking laid, and was released on conditions, with a court date set for October.
