B&E and arson suspects being sought by Peace Regional RCMP

Sep 16, 2025 | 12:11 PM

Mounties in Peace River are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying those responsible for an overnight break-and-enter and arson at a business in the Simon Lake area.

Peace Regional RCMP responded to a report of this happening on Sept. 16 at around 1:50 a.m.

While police were on the way to the scene, a second report was received of a fire at the same business.

Once on scene, RCMP learned there were at least two suspects who broke through the front windows of the building and stole items inside, before lighting it on fire.

Police are releasing footage of the suspect vehicle leaving the premises, which appears to be a white Dodge Caravan with a smashed-out back window covered with plastic or tape and a burnt-out taillight on the driver’s side.

Officers with the Peace Regional detachment are seeking public help with locating the van or information about the two people responsible. There is no physical description of the suspects at this time.

RCMP are awaiting more footage of the incident and are still in the early stages of their investigation, and would like to thank community members for their assistance thus far.

The Peace Regional RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the location of, or sightings of the white van or suspects involved. Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to please contact the Peace Regional RCMP at 780-624-6611 or your local police.
