Seven-year old from County of Grande Prairie in international contest for Youth Athlete of the Year

A seven-year-old girl from the County of Grande Prairie is a quarterfinalist for an online vote for Youth Athlete of the Year.

Sadie’s mom says in an email to EverythingGP that Sadie “was born with bilateral clubfoot and hip dysplasia, and doctors weren’t certain she’d ever walk due to her complexities.”

The contest includes kids aged 7-17 from Canada and the U.S.

The winner gets $25,000 and will be featured in Sports Illustrated.

Voting is taking place here and will be open until Thursday evening.

People are allowed one free vote every 24 hours or can get multiple votes with a donation to one of two charities.
