Applications open for City of Grande Prairie’s Community Improvement Grant and the Pursuit of Excellence Scholarships

Sep 22, 2025 | 3:35 PM

The City of Grande Prairie is accepting applications for the Community Improvement Grant and the Pursuit of Excellence Scholarships.

Both awards are designed to build quality of life, inspire local talent and create opportunities across the community.

Officials say the grant supports projects that foster civic pride and strengthen connections, through matching contributions up to $5,000 or non-matching up to $2,500, including their new Active Transportation Funding Stream for non-motorized travel projects like building bike-lanes.

The scholarships support athletes, coaches and officials through three streams, the Bob Neufeld Scholarship, the Come Fly With Me Fund, and the Perky McCullough International Excellence Scholarship, all aimed at helping recipients achieve their goals.

“The City is proud to invest in initiatives that not only improve infrastructure but also strengthen community health and sustainability,” says Jackie Clayton, Mayor, City of Grande Prairie. “Through the Community Improvement and Pursuit of Excellence programs, we can provide residents with the tools to enhance our city, support local talent, and inspire future generations.”

The deadline to apply for all these programs is Oct. 1, 2025.
