More than 60 per cent of Peace Country crop harvested

The September 16 crop report from Alberta Agriculture and AFSC says 61.1 per cent of the crop in the Peace had been harvested as of that date.

The report prior, harvest completion was at 38.3 per cent.

The five-year average is 41.5 per cent and the 10-year average is 29.4 per cent.

Completion percentages by crop are 95.5 for dry peas, 75.8 for spring wheat, 74.1 for barley, 56.7 for oats, and 42.7 for canola.

Pasture conditions are at 23 per cent poor, 51 per cent fair, and 26 per cent good.

Tame hay is 25 per cent poor, 51 per cent fair, and 24 per cent good.
