Grande Prairie players in pro hockey: Edwards scores for Devils in exhibition game

Sep 24, 2025 | 4:10 PM

Grande Prairie’s Ethan Edwards scored a goal for New Jersey in the Devils 6-2 win over the Islanders last night in NHL exhibition action.

The goal was initially waived off, but it was ruled a good goal after a video review.

Edwards also had a penalty and over 15 minutes of ice time. He also left the game at one point after taking a shot off the foot.

New Jersey picked Edwards in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL draft.

Meantime, Grande Prairie’s Gracyn Sawchyn remains in camp with Florida. Sawchyn played with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League last season.

Elsewhere, Grande Prairie’s Garin Bjorklund is with the Hershey Bears, the American Hockey League farm team for Washington.

Bjorklund has spent most of the last three seasons with South Carolina of the ECHL, but did play two games with the Bears last season.
