Nominations open for City of Grande Prairie Volunteer Awards

The City of Grande Prairie has opened nominations for their 2025 Annual Volunteer Awards.

The awards recognize volunteers that work to make their region a better place everyday in two categories.

  • George Repka Outstanding Achievement Award – Recognizes individuals who have made a major contribution in recreation, culture, or social services to the community. Nominees must have exhibited 20+ years of service in these areas, with notable achievements that have significantly benefitted the City of Grande Prairie.
  • Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of the Year Award – Honours volunteer organizations or foundations in Grande Prairie that have provided outstanding contributions to the community through service, voluntary initiatives, fundraising, and exemplary community development. Nominees must be located within the City of Grande Prairie and demonstrate achievements that have had a direct, positive effect on residents.

“Volunteers play an essential role in the quality of life we enjoy in Grande Prairie,” states Jackie Clayton, Mayor of the City of Grande Prairie, in a press release. “These awards allow us to acknowledge the individuals and organizations whose commitment and service have created lasting benefits for our community.”
