Fatal glider incident near Grovedale
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada says they have deployed a team of investigators to Grande Prairie after an ultralight aircraft crash on Thursday evening.
Alberta RCMP say Mounties responded to the crash on September 25 around 5:25 p.m., 12 km south of Grande Prairie in the Grovedale area. The aircraft was a single-person glider, an Outback 582 XP.
Grande Prairie Rural RCMP, EMS, and fire services attended the scene. Unfortunately, the lone occupant, a 55-year-old Fox Creek man, was later pronounced deceased.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has taken carriage of investigating this incident. They will be on site today (Friday, September 26) to gather information and assess the occurrence.
