PBR Peace Country Invitational in Grande Prairie Saturday

Sep 26, 2025 | 12:36 PM

The PBR’s Peace Country Invitational at Bonnetts Energy Centre is tomorrow night (Saturday, Sept. 27).

Number 1-ranked bull rider, Dakota Buttar of Eatonia, Saskatchewan, says it’s crunch time as the season comes to a close soon.

“So far I’m happy with the year. It’s been pretty busy with going to lots of events and getting on lots of bulls.”

Buttar is neck and neck in the standings, with a very small gap between him and Fort St. John, B.C.’s Jake Gardener.

“The race here is pretty tight, me and Jake (Gardener) are only 1.5 points apart, so it’s gonna be a tight finish to end the year.”

There are just five events left in the bull riding season; Grande Prairie’s show being one of them.

He says him and Gardner both will be trying to make headway in their own regard.

“Lots of points up for grabs so, we are going to be battling it out trying to get as many points as we can.”

Buttar will be one of 23 riders Saturday night trying to make it the full 8 seconds and win the nearly sold-out event.

Tickets are limited; you can buy them in person at the Bonnetts box office or online.
