Flags to fly at half-mast for Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day

The Peace River Regional District will fly its flags at half-mast today (Sunday, Sept. 28) to observe Police and Peace Officers’ National Memorial Day.

PRRD says they “acknowledge the dedication and sacrifices made by Canadian police and peace officers in the line of duty.”

The Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police encourages residents to use it as an “annual opportunity to formally express appreciation for the dedication of police and peace officers who lost their lives in the line of duty and to offer condolences to the surviving families of those who gave their lives in the service of their communities.”
