Grande Prairie RCMP share police event statistics for August 2025

The Grande Prairie RCMP detachment has released its rough crime statistics for August 2025.

The RCMP is reporting that the total number of police events in the city increased in August 2025, reaching approximately 2,671, compared to 2,569 in August 2024, while total police events in rural areas in August 2025 went down compared to the same time frame in 2024.

Looking at specific offence types, theft from motor vehicle appears to have had the largest increase in August of this year, while possession of stolen property went down slightly compared to last August.
