Three arrested for armed robbery in Grande Prairie

On Monday, August 4, 2025, at around 4:25 p.m., members of the Grande Prairie RCMP were dispatched to an armed robbery taking place at a business in the downtown core.

The Bar One restaurant was robbed by a lone male wielding an imitation firearm. The man was demanding cash from employees while threatening them, and he fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Further police investigation has revealed the man had co-conspired his actions with two other individuals.

As a result, three Grande Prairie residents have been arrested and charged:

  • 28-year-old Karson Clease has been charged with two counts of robbery and possession of stolen property obtained by crime under $5,000.
  • 36-year-old Saddarta Stayner has been charged with:
    • Two counts of robbery
    • Possession of a weapon dangerous to public purpose
    • Possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • 58-year-old Ronald Caplette has been charged with:
    • Two counts of robbery
    • Two counts of possession of weapon dangerous to public purpose
    • Disguise with intent

The trio were brought before a Justice of the Peace; Clease and Caplette were remanded into custody and Stanyer was released.

Clease and Caplette will be in Grande Prairie court on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025. Stanyer will be in the same court on October 15, 2025.
