County of Grande Prairie Council Candidate Profile: Robert Hill

Robert Hill is one of four Division 5 residents running for a County Council position.

He was asked to answer the following four questions with a 600-word limit.

1. What has inspired you to run for mayor/council/school trustee in the Oct. 20, 2025, municipal election?

I feel I’m a good fit for the community. My family and I are very interested in everything that goes on around us and are very active in the community. Also being a good listener I feel council would be a good place for me.

2. What skills or experience do you have that you feel would make you a good fit for the role?

I have two journeyman-ships in carpentry and crane & hoisting. I have been involved in 4H, Kinsmen Club, Beaverlodge Petroleum Club (President for 8 years) Raised money to improve our community, Coached (NCCP Carded) Beaverlodge Minor Hockey: boys and girls, Trainer, Manager Hythe Mustang’s Senior Hockey, Hythe Mustang’s Oldtimers organizer and still a player.

3. What do you feel are the key or main election issues in your community, and what are the issues of priority for you?

Roads (condition and management)Environment ( air, water, and sound) Safety in the community

Address concerns about rural crime Weed Control

Keeping taxes and facility spending throughout the community equitable and accessible to all.
