NWP names inaugural head coach of Women’s Hockey
Northwestern Polytechnic’s new Women’s Hockey program has found its head coach.
NWP has announced Brett Stephenson as the inaugural coach of the NWP Wolves Women’s Hockey Program, bringing with him more than 30 years of coaching experience; including time alongside GP Storm head coach Chris Schmidt, during a stint with the Grande Prairie U18 AAA Storm.
“We’re excited to welcome Brett Stephenson to the NWP Wolves,” said Dr. Vanessa Sheane, NWP President and CEO. “Brett brings a proven record of leadership, athlete development, and community connection, making him a perfect choice to lead our inaugural women’s hockey team.”
“It’s an honour,” said Stepehnson. “I’m excited to create a competitive, supportive, and positive environment where student-athletes can grow on the ice, in the classroom, and in the community.”
