Storm, NPHL, NWJHL, Wolves this weekend

Storm

The Storm are in Fort McMurray for three games this weekend.

Face-off times will be 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The Storm head into the weekend in third place in the North Division with nine points, one point ahead of the Oil Barons and three back of second place Lloydminster.

Whitecourt is in first place with 14 points.

NPHL

The North Peace Hockey League regular season starts Saturday with three games

Dawson Creek will travel to Fox Creek; Fort St. John will be in Valleyview, and Manning visits High Prairie.

All three games start at 8:30 p.m.

NWJHL

There are two games in the Northwest Junior Hockey League on Friday.

Sexsmith will be in Peace River and Fort St. John in Dawson Creek.

Both start at 8 p.m. local time.

On Saturday, La Crete is in Sexsmith for a 6:30 p.m. face-off.

Beaverlodge in Dawson Creek will start at 8 p.m. Alberta time, 7 p.m. in B.C.

Peace River at the County Wheat Kings and Fairview in Fort St. John will both start at 8 p.m. local time.

On Sunday, the Wheat Kings in Dawson Creek game will start at 2 p.m. Alberta time, 1 p.m. in B.C.

La Crete in Fairview will start at 2 p.m.

Wolves

Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves soccer will wrap up the regular season on the road at The King’s University Saturday and Concordia University of Edmonton on Sunday.

Game times are at 2 and 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, noon and 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Basketball will play at Calgary’s Ambrose University Friday at 6 and 8 p.m.

The men’s team won its season-opener Thursday night in Calgary, beating St. Mary’s University 67-58. The women’s team lost to the same school.

Volleyball opens at home against Ambrose University Saturday at 6 and 8 p.m.
